CampusHealthCoach (“CampusHealthCoach,” “we,” “us”) is a beta text-message (SMS) AI health coaching service for college students. It is operated by an individual, not a company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By signing up or using the service, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the coaching program:
- Sign-up details: your name, email address, mobile phone number, school or university (optional), and the coach you choose.
- SMS consent records: that you agreed to receive texts, the date and time you agreed, and the consent language shown to you.
- Check-in texts and messages: the messages you send us (for example, how your hydration, food, exercise, sleep, and low-stress reset went), the goals you set, and the replies and weekly summaries we send you.
- Team information (optional): if you join a team using a team code, which team you belong to.
- Basic technical data: standard information our hosting and SMS providers log automatically, such as message delivery status, timestamps, and browser or device information when you visit the website.
Please don’t send us sensitive medical information you don’t want stored. CampusHealthCoach is a habit coaching service, not a healthcare provider.
2. How we use your information
- To send you daily check-in texts, coaching replies, and weekly summaries.
- To personalize coaching to the goals you set and the coach you picked.
- To run optional team features (see section 4).
- To respond to HELP requests, support emails, and opt-out (STOP) requests.
- To manage your subscription and send account-related emails.
- To keep the service working, fix problems, and improve the coaching.
- To keep records of your SMS consent and comply with legal and carrier requirements.
3. We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own advertising or marketing.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Team features
If you join a team, your coach may share general group observations with your team to keep everyone motivated. For example: “Jackson is killing the exercise this week, make sure you hydrate going into the weekend.” Team updates are limited to general encouragement and wins. We never share your private details with your team, including your phone number, email, the full text of your check-ins, or anything you’ve told your coach in confidence. Team membership is optional, and you can leave a team at any time.
5. AI coaching
Your coach (Coach Marcus, Coach Deuce, Coach Anna, or Coach Sophia) is an automated AI assistant, not a human. To write coaching replies and summaries, the content of your check-in messages, your goals, and your first name are processed by a third-party AI model provider. We share only what is needed to generate the reply. We do not allow your information to be used for advertising. We configure these services, where available, so your data is not used to train their models.
6. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run CampusHealthCoach. They process information only on our behalf and only to provide their service:
- SMS / messaging provider (for example, Twilio) and mobile carriers, to send and receive text messages.
- AI model provider, to generate coaching replies and summaries.
- Website hosting and form providers (for example, GitHub Pages and our sign-up form service), to host this website and receive sign-ups.
- Email and payment providers, to send account emails and, when billing begins, to process payments. We do not store full card numbers.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of a user or others.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information only as long as you are using the service, or as long as needed for the purposes above and legal or carrier record-keeping (such as consent records). You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing j.jeffmorton@gmail.com. We will delete your account information and message history within 30 days, except records we’re legally required to keep. Replying STOP ends text messages but does not on its own delete your data, so email us if you want that too.
8. Your choices
- Stop texts: reply STOP to any message at any time.
- Get help: reply HELP or email j.jeffmorton@gmail.com.
- Access, correct, or delete: email us and we will help.
- Teams: leave a team at any time by telling your coach or emailing us.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls and reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and text messages are not encrypted end to end, so please avoid texting highly sensitive information.
10. Age requirement
CampusHealthCoach is intended for college students who are 18 or older. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has signed up, email us and we will delete their information.
11. Not medical advice
CampusHealthCoach provides general wellness and habit coaching only. It is not medical, nutritional, or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not replace a doctor or other qualified professional. Talk to a healthcare provider before making major changes to your diet, exercise, or sleep. In an emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, U.S.).
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the beta grows. If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let active users know by text or email.
